Feet ground us. They connect our body and earth almost all the time. Shoes prevent direct contact with the outside world. They protect us but distract from our inner. Shoes allow us to hide.
The focus of creating them lies on the outside. Infact the part we actually touch and feel is much more interesting to zoom in on.
Hairless areas are able to differ smallest contrasts: tounge, lips, fingers and the soles of the feet.
We develop a protection layer, the callus. We feel less.
This sole was created to form a new tangency. A tangency we were not aware of to feel more.
Contact the ground with the most sensetive part of your body.
The sole of the shoe is filtering the outside world for our good. This project is focussing on transmitting contact without surrendering the ground of the shoe.
Rely on your tactile sensation inside the shoe. I challenge your perception. Feel yourself and everything else existing.
Focus on your inner world: your thoughts, your feelings, your boundaries. Question your physical existence. Question your corporal capability. Know your sensory perception.
Silicon has the abilty to be visullay but not physically transparent. We are not transparent unless we decide to involve our surroundings in our inner world through thoughts.
Silicon: a transparent boundary.
Fabric is not trasparent, but permable for air, just as we are. The silicon is making the fabric impenetrable: together they form something new.

What is happening on the ground?
Transmission of the outside to your inside world.
This sole was created to feel your environment. The environment of your previous walk.
The sole is memorizing the ground. Challenging the awareness of others : not us.
Experience the environment of your choice. You decide when to change shoes from left to right: evert.
This act is an unpredictable circuit.
Saitens:the connection of two seats.
Inspired by a series of three sketches by Leonardo da Vinci, the chair is based on an image of sun rays shining onto a parabolic mirror such as the strings that branch out through the chair.
Saitens analyses human communication: being with a friend or a total stranger. Two identical seats, denoted by a single piece of high-strength fishing wire, are positioned in total balance alternate to one another: the relationship.
Let’s start telling stories to one another again.
A story does not have to be a verbal way to communicate. Sometimes a glimpse or a sense of another is enough.

What is a stroke and what does it do to your body?
A stroke occurs when the bloodflow is cut off. As a result brain cells begin to die which leads to the loss of memory and muscle control. Recovery can only start when your brain accepts your improvement. You didn‘t loose your muscles but the control over them.
Strokes can happen at any age any time.
The project is inspired by the mirror therapy to trigger your thoughts.
How does the mirror therapy work?
Place one hand in front of a mirror while the other is placed behind. Once you start moving both hands symmetrically your brain will adapt the reflection with the non visible hand. So why not take advantage of your functional hand to help the other one. Be your own puppet player.
What should the product achieve?
The product should help regain the dexterity of the patient as well as the most affected: the fine motor skills. A motivational feedback is included to help the patient recover in a playfull way.
I wanted to distance this product from the typical rehabilation genre towards an experience and adventure to feel joy.
What is joy in this specific context?
It is the achievement and the result while and after the patient‘s practice.
Resulting a stroke the patient might not be able to move one side of his body. With this origin the practice has to be intuitive, easy and uncomplicated. The Pin Table consists of two fields generated through several pins. Those pins share a connection with the opposite underneath.
How is the transmission of a movement from one pin to the other possible?
A hydraulical system passes the motion on to the other side. Once you apply pressure to a pin by placing your hands on the two fields the water filled in the tubes has to evade.
The opposite pin will transform the position into a vertical motion. You will recieve the opposite movement.
Every motion is a suprise.

Today bicycle helmets are very rare companions in our daily lifes. They have this specific look, which does not only make them unattractive but especially not practical to carry around.
A helmet is limiting what we can or can not do when riding the bike.
Everything that comes in contact with our body or especially what changes our outward appearance is challenging to create. A helmet will only keep you safe from the surrounding traffic if you actually wear it. I wanted to give the typical helmet a whole new look and therefore a new chance to establish itself.
The feature differing Kalimero from the competitors is the ability to fold flat perfectly and to stow away easily as well, giving you the freedom you need while and after taking your bike out for a ride.
To maintain the shape of the folding technique and especially hold on to the fact that Kalimero should be able to fold flat as small as possible I had to minimize the materials.
The helmet was made out of three layers: mesh fabric holding together the inner layer made out of numerous 0.3 mm thick PVC triangles arranged to form the pattern.
Pockets provide an ideal footing for the triangles sewed into the mesh fabric. The material of the straps is leather to make them tear resistant and elastic.
